Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I trust you and your family had a fantastic summer break. Many of you look forward to another exciting year at Laurel Ridge Elementary School (LRES).

The administrators, teachers, staff, and PTA have been planning for an exciting year at LRES. We are ready for the awesome task of preparing all students to be successful. We ask that you join us in this amazing endeavor of ensuring our students are learning and growing together. High expectations for academic achievement, fine-tuning our quality programs, a sense of school pride through belonging and connection, and teamwork will be our top priorities. This year promises to be filled with excitement, challenges, hard work, and many new opportunities. 

The staff at LRES is dedicated to providing the best education for your child. The following information is being provided to assist in preparing for the school opening:

Open House

You and your child are invited to attend the Open House on Wednesday, August 2nd. Open House will provide you with the following opportunities:

• Identify Homeroom Teacher and Room Number

• Meet your Teachers

• School Supply List- Currently Posted on the School Website

• Bus Numbers and Route Numbers

• Cafeteria Information

• PTA Membership and Information Tables

• Volunteer Sign Up

• Spirit Wear

Please come August 2nd at the following times for your grade level:

            PreK – 1st grade: 8:30a.m. – 10:30a.m.

            2nd – 5th grade: 10:30 am – 1:30 pm.

Returning Students/Parents to Laurel Ridge should complete the annual verification process using this link.

• Parents/Guardians must have an Infinite Campus Parent Portal account to verify/update their student(s) information.
• Parents/guardians who do not already have a portal account should visit this page for instructions.
• Parents/guardians who have forgotten their portal username and/or password should click on the Forgot username? or Forgot password? link as appropriate on the portal login page

New Students to DeKalb and Laurel Ridge should complete the new student registration application using this link. This does not apply to PreK.

School Hours: LRES will begin school at 7:50 am and dismiss at 2:25 pm.

Important Upcoming Dates:

• July 23rd- 10:00 am to noon - Pre-K/ Kindergarten Meet Up- Laurel Ridge Playground
• August 2nd- 8:30–1:30 pm- Open House
• August 5th- 10:00 am to noon- PTA Playground Meet Up All Grade Levels
• August 7th- First Day of School
• August 24th- 6:00 pm-7:30 pm- Laurel Ridge Curriculum Night
