Third-grade teacher Ms. Wackerman is partnering with Trout Unlimited to raise trout in her classroom. The program connects students with their local watershed and enhances their understanding of the ecosystem. 

How does it work? The students are raising the newly spawned trout, which are called alevin. In March they will travel to the Chattahoochee River to release the fingerlings.

The best way to learn more about the trout at Laurel Ridge is to ask a third-grader!
